Leanne Simmons – physiotherapist

MSc Physiotherapy, BA Sport and Exercise Science 

Leanne completed an accelerated masters to qualify as a physiotherapist in 2018 having previously completed her

 

undergraduate in Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Brighton.

Leanne developed her passion for lower limb pathologies having participated in basketball sustaining several knee and ankle injuries. She has worked with track and field athletes and with football teams and has experience in hydrotherapy.

Leanne has gained experience in the NHS and private sectors which has allowed her to understand the importance of a holistic approach to rehabilitation. Having worked closely with sports consultants, Leanne has an in-depth knowledge of utilising other modalities to get the best results for her patients whether this be onward referral to surgeons, GP’s or personal trainers. She is passionate about utilising a multi-modal approach to physiotherapy using both hands-on techniques combined with functional rehabilitation.

Leanne has a qualification in Sports Massage and Acupuncture. She is currently  working towards completing her Strength and Conditioning qualification as well as completing masters modules at the University of Hertfordshire to further develop her knowledge.

Leanne currently works educating the next generation of physiotherapists and is passionate about developing a workforce reflective of the communities served.

If not commuting from one place to another by bike, Leanne is often found looking for the next live music gig, watching her beloved Tottenham Hotspur, baking or listening to a podcast.
