The Team at Balance have provided fantastic support over the years & enabled me to progress from recreational athlete to Amateur World Champion & on to racing professionally on the Ironman & ITU circuit.

I first worked with the guys at Balance Physio in 2007 as a result of niggling injuries from increased training volume. The drills & strengthening advice became the cornerstone of my program & led to three injury free & successful years of consistent improvement. As a Pro, to improve my core & movement I worked closely with Jonathan as well as making the most of the Alter-G Treadmill to increase leg speed & turnover which payed dividends in my professional career.

With the nature of our sport, however, I’m away training & racing for months at a time & in 2010/11 as my career progressed, I really began to miss the regular input from the team in Clapham. From July 2011 following a hobbling, achilles affected, run at Challenge Roth I decided to base myself in London for the remainder of the season to benefit from the treatment available at Balance. The training wasn’t as glamourous as Stellenbosch or Boulder but the physio & massage swung the balance. The team approach proved invaluable in addressing my achilles injury & the ability of Jonathan, Paula, Trevor & Graham to work together for the best possible outcome allowed me to keep on top of my swim/bike training & use the Alter-G as a rehab tool…a totally different but key use for the treadmill.

I’m now building towards a solo Channel swim in August. Something that’s always been in the back of my mind but until now, I’ve been too afraid to commit to! Having started out in endurance sport to raise money for charity, I’ve lost sight of that over the last few years & it’s now time to redress the balance & push my limits for a good cause & raise money for the Meningitis Trust & Acorn Alzhiemers. Paula has already got me working hard in the gym whilst keep my shoulders in once piece as the mileage increases.

I couldn’t be in better hands & can’t recommend Balance highly enough. If you’re struggling with an injury or looking for performance gains, the Team at Balance should be top of your list.

Thank you!
