Biomechanical Analysis
“…. Comparison to the “expected optimal” technique according to your bodyshape and the type of sports activity practised (e.g. track middle distance vs. road runner),..”
Balance has a 3 camera computerised running, gait and cycle performance analysis laboratory using digital software technology. This equipment allows us to assess your technique for symmetry of movement and comparison with the ‘expected optimal’ technique.
The combined video and treadmill analysis allows close inspection of body movements and establishes possible ineffective technique and causes of injury.
We can video the client in motion performing any sporting technique: running, kicking a football, batting, or performing any sporting technique.
The benefits of using this technology and the expertise of our specialist pysiotherapist who use this equipment include:
- improves effectiveness of rehabilitation by identifying weaknesses in movement that are potential causes of existing injury
- injury prevention allowing areas of vulnerability to be addressed - particularly useful for novice marathon runners
- greater levels of performance achieved through appropriate training of movement quality and control
- improved sporting technique working on specific actions seen as inefficent
