After several years absence from the evening class programme at Balance yoga has made a return on Wednesday evenings. Our teacher Diana Eskell lives and teaches a lifestyle of smooth, controlled, strong and full movement. This is how Diana describes the yoga she teaches.

"Hatha yoga is the root of all yoga practices. Yoga is a hollistic practice, so helping to calm the mind from the daily grind and filling the body with more energy. It can alleviate insomnia and digestive problems and encourages cell repair. The postures work to make the spine supple and to promote circulation in all the organs, glands, and tissues. Hatha yoga postures stretch and align the body, promoting balance and flexibility and strength.

The benefits to the practitioner of yoga are immense

  • greater movement control and precision
  • heightened body awareness
  • increased flexibility
  • improved breathing control
  • total body strength including the core
  • resilience and stamina
  • coordianted and fluid agility (mental and physical)"
